Blogspotted: Vivian Maier, Her Discovered Work
"In 2007, a Chicago estate agent stumbled across an astonishing visual archive of mid-century America. So began one man's mission to rediscover Vivian Maier: nanny, eccentric and 'photographer extraordinaire."
Vivian Maier was a French nanny who photographed Chicago from the 1950's to the 1970's. Her beautiful, poignant and sometimes humerous documentations of a city through thirty decades are so historically important, it's amazing to think her work has only been discovered recently.
The link at the bottom of this post will send you to a lovely blog where you can really explore her work. Or you can read this brilliant article to discover more about the mysterious woman who captured an America that only seems real in the movies. It's really interesting, so give it a read.
